The Chairman of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Council, Mr. Iliya Ibn-Aliyu, has issued a stern warning to staff members against absenteeism and indiscipline, describing such actions as acts of sabotage.

The warning came during an inspection of infrastructure at the council secretariat on Tuesday in Nasarawa Eggon.

In a statement issued by the Council’s Information Officer, Mr. Usman Isa Adagazu, Ibn-Aliyu expressed deep concern about the deteriorating state of the secretariat’s infrastructure, calling it “unacceptable” and a clear reflection of deliberate neglect.

He emphasized that the current condition of the secretariat undermines the council’s ability to deliver effective services to the public.

“The dilapidation here affects every corner of our secretariat.

Not a single office is adequately equipped for effective service delivery,” Ibn-Aliyu lamented.

He declared an “infrastructural emergency” and pledged to carry out a complete renovation and modernization of the secretariat to improve workplace efficiency.

He stressed the importance of restoring discipline and order within the council’s administration to ensure proper governance.

In addition to the secretariat, Ibn-Aliyu voiced concerns about the poor condition of official residential facilities within the area.

He reiterated his commitment to addressing these issues as part of his broader efforts to improve the council’s infrastructure and operational standards.

The chairman was accompanied on the inspection by his Deputy, Mr. Yusuf Mada, and the Council’s Secretary, Emmanuel Yaro, among other officials.

With his firm stance on discipline and infrastructural reforms, Ibn-Aliyu is setting the tone for a renewed focus on efficiency and accountability within the Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Council.
