Nigeria’s Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy is partnering with Nokia to equip young Nigerians with the latest skills in telecommunications. This collaboration supports the government’s vision of enhancing digital capacity in the country.
Led by Minister Dr. Bosun Tijanni and NCC’s Dr. Aminu Maida, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed this week with Nokia Solutions and Networks Nigeria. The agreement focuses on training young Nigerians in cutting-edge 4G/5G radio and transmission technologies.

Nokia Nigeria will establish a fully functional 5G/4G test lab at the Nigerian Communications Commission’s Digital Parks. This facility will provide hands-on learning with the latest technologies, preparing students for the rapidly evolving telecom industry.
Aligned with the Ministry’s goal of promoting digital literacy, Nokia Nigeria will also launch an Entrepreneur Learning Programme. This initiative will provide high-quality vocational training to 200 students across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
This partnership is a significant step towards building a robust tech talent pipeline in Nigeria, empowering young people to contribute to the country’s digital future.
