NDLEA uncovers illicit drug hidden in shea butter and bound for the U.K.

The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have uncovered and halted a 2kg parcel of cocaine from being shipped to the UK.

This was revealed in a signed statement by the agency’s Director, Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi on Sunday, May 26, 2024.

The parcel was discovered on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, by the NDLEA operatives at the NAHCO export shed of the Lagos airport.

A freight agent identified as Sonubi Mariam Abiodun has been arrested over her attempt to cargo the 8 parcels of cocaine weighing 2kg concealed in three out of six paint buckets containing shea butter packaged for export to the United Kingdom.
