Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel has eliminated a prominent Hezbollah leader, Hashem Safieddine, who has been missing since October 3.
In a message directed at the Lebanese populace, Netanyahu called for the removal of the Iranian-backed group, describing Hezbollah as a destructive force in Lebanon.
In a rare English-language video, Netanyahu stated, “We have degraded Hezbollah’s capabilities; we have taken out thousands of terrorists, including [Hezbollah leader Hassan] Nasrallah himself, and his successors.”
He emphasized that Hezbollah is currently weaker than it has been in many years.
Netanyahu lamented Lebanon’s decline from its historical status as the “Pearl of the Middle East” to a nation plagued by chaos and conflict.
“A gang of tyrants and terrorists destroyed it.

Today, it’s a place of war,” he said.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged the Lebanese people to seize the opportunity to liberate their country from Hezbollah, warning that failure to act could plunge Lebanon into a prolonged conflict akin to the situation in Gaza.
“Free your country from Hezbollah so that this war can end,” he implored, expressing hope for a future where Lebanese and Israeli children can coexist peacefully.
This appeal comes as Israel has intensified its military operations against Hezbollah along the Israel-Lebanon border in recent weeks.
