According to a news that was published by the Punch Newspaper online yesterday afternoon, it was reported that the Defence Chiefs of ECOWAS countries were meeting in Abuja to deliberate on how power will be taken away from the military junta that ousted the democratically elected President of the Niger Republic.

However, with the meeting, it means that the ECOWAS still intends to go ahead with the military invasion of Niger Republic, in order to restore the democracy that was forcefully taken over by a military junta.

However, While Mr Daniel Bwala, who happens to be a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was reacting to this development on his official Twitter handle, he said, “This proxy war that ECOWAS wants to go into will be for the benefit of Russia and NATO. Totally avoidable; why allow the west to use African soil as the battleground for the scramble of Africa’s natural resources?”

He said at the moment, they buy the Nigeria’s natural resources, because under international convention on war, they do not have the rights to invade African territory, without invitation. But, during war, these countries can invade the African soil based on the various agreements they have with ECOWAS member states, which led to the presence of their military formations in some African countries in the first place.

Further talking, Daniel Bwala said that very soon as the conflict starts, they will takeover oil fields, and ancillaries, where they will pretend to recover the money for either their own supplies of arms, or active war assistance and once the conflicts starts, they would ensure that the war in African continent escalates, and take hydra-headed dimensions.

While concluding, he said, “Once the war starts, there would be no development, active trade activities and above all peace. I humble beg President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to avoid the militarization of diplomacy, in other to avoid predictable consequences.”
