Nigeria has ignored terror attack advice by two foreign powers, saying that the Federal Government will not be stampeded by the terror alert raised by the governments of the United States and the United Kingdom.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, after the Federal Executive Council meeting chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday declared that “Nigeria will not be stampeded by whatever any government decides to tell its people living in Abuja and parts of the country.”

He noted that the US acted within her rights to advise her citizens to go home from the country, noting that Nigeria won’t be stampeded by such warning or action.

The minister said that the federal government has in the last few months taken a firm handle of security, adding that Nigerian citizens should avoid ‘liking’ or sharing materials that could incite panic.

After the US and Britain on Sunday revealed plots of possible terror attacks in Abuja, the US om Tuesday advised its citizens and Embassy Staff in Abuja to depart Nigeria.
