Nigeria scuttles Igboho’s trial with new diplomatic twist

There is more trouble on the line for Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho as the former chief of army staff, Tukur Buratai has submitted a letter of credence to the President of Benin republic, Patrice Talon.

This credence letter connotes that Buratai has resumed his duty as the Nigerian ambassador to Benin Republic which also means that the bilateral agreement between both countries will become stronger.

As it is known that Sunday Igboho was arrested some days ago in Benin Republic for criminal association while on his way to Germany. Apart from his offence in Benin, He is also one of the most sought after offenders by the Nigerian government for his efforts in wanting to actualize Yoruba Nation.

For some days, Nigerian government has been trying to extradite him from the Benin republic as he was declared wanted some weeks ago.

With this new development, Sunday Igboho might be in more serious trouble which may allow the extradition to be a seamless process for the Nigerian government.
