Major  Gen. Kevin Aligbe, Commander of the Training and Doctrine Command of the Nigerian Army, has declared that failure will not be tolerated among captains taking the  2024 Captain to Major Practical Promotion Examination (CMPPE).

Speaking at the opening ceremony in Akure, Aligbe emphasized the importance of the exam for advancing army captains’ leadership skills and their eligibility for the Junior Staff Course at overseas staff colleges.

Over 200 captains from various formations and units across the country are participating in the exam.

Aligbe urged the officers to approach the test with seriousness, asserting that it serves as a key indicator of their capabilities and readiness for greater responsibilities within the Nigerian Army.

“This examination is not just an assessment; it’s a reflection of your current proficiency and potential for future assignments,” Aligbe stated.

He expressed confidence in the participants, given their training and operational experience, and set an expectation of a 100% pass rate.

Maj. Gen. Obinna Onubogu, General Officer Commanding 2 Division, welcomed attendees and highlighted the division’s logistical and security preparations for the exam.

He reminded participants to remain vigilant due to the unpredictable security situation in Akure and to avoid sharing sensitive information that could compromise safety.
