Nigerian Army to pay N500,000 ransom on information on suicide bombers

Disturbed by the spate of suicide bombings in the North East, particularly in Maiduguri and Madagali metropolis, the Nigerian Army has set N500, 000 rewards for any information that could lead to the arrest of any suicide bomber.

In addition, such information will serve as a guide to the suicide bomber, discovery of the transit house or any factory where the terrorists are manufacturing Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).

National Daily gathered that the need to reward such credible informant was to further encourage law abiding citizens to actively join the war against terrorists and collective security engineering.

The Nigerian Army spokesperson, Brig Gen Sani Kukasheka Usman , said in Abuja on Tuesday that such information can be passed to the military authorities through the following designated numbers for immediate response.

The theatre Commander, Operations LAFIYA DOLE, in  Maiduguri could be reached on: 09064823221 while General Officer Commanding, 7 Division Maiduguri can be contacted with: 09078599985. Also, the Commander, 7 Division Garrison, in Maiduguri can be accessed with the phone number: 08022375305.

He added that the Commander, 28 Brigade, Mubi can be reached on: 08065504576 while the Commander, 26 Brigade, Gwoza can be contacted on: +234 809 721 1700 (WhatsApp).

In addition, the Director, Army Public Relations, Abuja can be contacted on: 07080217992 while the Commander, 7 Division Military Intelligence Brigade Maiduguri’s phone is: 09021668444.

While assuring members of the public of treating their information in utmost confidentiality noted that such information would be acted upon with despatch. He enjoins all and sundry to be proactive and be vigilant to apprehend Boko Haram terrorists and their sponsors as the terrorists bent on unleashing mayhem on Nigerians.

Meanwhile, the President Mohammadu Buhri has expressed sadness over the accidental bombing of a civilian community at Rann in Maiduguri by the airforce.

In a three-paragraph statement in Abuja by his Special Adviser (Media and Publicity), Femi Adesina said “President Muhammadu Buhari has received with deep sadness and regret, the accidental bombing of a civilian community in Rann, Borno State, by the Nigerian Air Force, engaged in the final phase of mopping up insurgents in the North-east.

President Buhari condoles with families of the dead, wishes the wounded divine succour, leading to full recovery, and sympathizes with the Borno State government.

The President pledges federal help for the state government in attending to “this regrettable operational mistake,” and pleads for calm, even as he prays God to grant repose to the souls of the dead.
