A tragic incident has befallen a Nigerian family as Mrs. Oluranti Olufunmilayo Esther Akinyemi passed away less than 20 hours after arriving in the United Kingdom to attend her child’s graduation ceremony.
The heartbreaking news was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user SK the Plug, who revealed that Mrs. Akinyemi travelled to the UK on February 11, 2026, in preparation for her child’s graduation scheduled for February 18.
According to the report, Mrs. Akinyemi suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in the early hours of February 12 and was immediately rushed to Luton and Dunstable University Hospital for emergency treatment. She remained in a coma for three days before being declared clinically dead on February 14.
