Nigerians have been urged to give thanks to God in spite of the current situation in the nation.
A cleric, Tolu Okusanya of the Vine Branch Church, Ibadan, gave the advice on Monday in Ibadan, at a Christmas Carol and Concert, organised by Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).
Okusanya said Nigerians should appreciate God in whatever situation they may find themselves, because the current situation could have been worse.
“The fact that we are alive to see another season of Christmas is enough reason to be thankful.
“Moreover, we live in a society where death is cheap, but here we are alive.
“The lesson of Christmas is thanksgiving and praises unto the Most High God,” he said.
The programme featured Christmas lessons, special performances, candle lighting, donations and fireworks.
Popular gospel artistes who performed at the carol include, Shola Allyson-Obaniyi, Yetunde Are, Alfa Sure and Kingdom Brass.
In her remarks, Mrs. Funmi Peluola, BCOS Director of Programmes, said that the concert was organised for people to take time off their busy schedules and appreciate the joy of Christmas.
