The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has projected a generally sunny and partly cloudy weather pattern across the country from Monday to Wednesday, with chances of isolated thunderstorms and light rainfall in parts of the southern states.
In its weather outlook released on Sunday in Abuja, NiMet indicated that the northern region of the country will experience predominantly sunny conditions throughout the three-day forecast period.
However, by Wednesday, a sunny and hazy atmosphere is expected over parts of Jigawa, Yobe and Borno States, while the rest of the northern region will remain largely sunny.
According to the agency, the central region is expected to witness sunny skies with a few patches of clouds throughout the forecast period, with no significant weather disturbances anticipated.
For the southern region, NiMet forecast sunny skies accompanied by patches of clouds, with prospects of isolated thunderstorms and light rainfall, particularly during the afternoon and evening hours.
On Monday, light rains are expected over parts of Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Edo, Delta, Ondo, Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Imo, Abia and Osun States later in the day.

On Tuesday, the agency maintained that sunny conditions will persist in the northern region, while the central region will continue to experience sunny skies with minimal cloud cover.
The southern region is expected to remain sunny with patches of clouds, though with increased chances of isolated thunderstorms. Light rainfall is anticipated over parts of Abia, Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Bayelsa States during the afternoon or evening hours.
By Wednesday, NiMet forecasts continued sunny conditions across most parts of the country, with hazy conditions likely in parts of the far northern states. Light rains are again expected later in the day over parts of Anambra, Oyo, Edo, Ogun, Ondo, Delta, Lagos, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River and Bayelsa States.
NiMet advised motorists to exercise caution while driving under rainy conditions and urged airline operators to obtain airport-specific weather reports from the agency to ensure effective planning and safe flight operations.
