Certified Computer Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (CCMAN) have agreed to seal a nationwide service rollout deal with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). The scheme is set to begin soon.

The idea stemmed as a key resolution reached at a meeting between NITDA and Original Equipment Manufacturers.

NITDA also noted that the meeting was in furtherance of the implementation of the Executive Order no 003 – Support for Local Content in Procurement by Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Federal Government of Nigeria-recently issued by the Federal Government.

According to Suleiman, “The meeting was convened to, among others, strengthen partnerships and discuss strategies that would ensure the required quality was upheld in manufacturing practices and to discuss areas of collaboration for increased and sustained patronage of indigenous IT products and services”.

It will be recalled that since the appointment of the new Director General, Dr. Isah Panatmi, there had been series of game changing policies aimed at driving Nigeria’s quest to computerization dream.
