The leadership and members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), have begun a two-day nationwide protest in solidarity with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as well as other maladministration issues in Nigeria.

Already, Labour union members have trooped out in Lagos and are now on the streets with placards with different inscriptions.

Some of the inscriptions read: “Nigeria at 60 years of Independence, More hunger in the land”. “Reduce the costs of governance now. Save the masses from poverty and hunger”. “Stop importation of petrol, revive refineries”.

The NLC leadership had a few days ago sent out a circular to their state chapters notifying them of the nationwide protests which kicked off on Tuesday July 26, 2022.
