NSCDC apprehends 4 illegal dealers in adulterated diesel in Edo

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday disclosed the arrest of two suspects involved in illegal dealing and transporting of adulterated Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) in Edo State. The NSCDC, Edo State Command, said the suspects are being detained in the state by the Corps.

The Commandant of the Edo State NSCDC, Aniekam Udoeyop,  during the parade of four suspected criminals at the Headquarters of the Command in Benin City,  disclosed that two of the suspects were arrested by the anti-vandal unit of the Corps transporting 18 thousand litres of adulterated Automotive Gas Oil, known as diesel, in drums towards Kogi State from Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Aniekam Udoeyop further disclosed that the driver of the vehicle and owner of the product, during interrogation, abandoned the product and eloped from the scene, while his assistant, a passenger traveling with them, the vehicle and the petroleum products were held by the operatives of the command.

Udoeyop also said that the other suspects in the custody of the command were arrested at Ekpoma for stealing. The State Commandant revealed that one of the suspects, Daniel Amos, was caught in possession of human parts in his residence.

Investigations are still going on, the NSCDC said.
