The Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing grassroot security.
This commitment was highlighted by the State Commandant, Mr. Adedotun Keshinro, during the groundbreaking ceremony for the proposed Divisional Office headquarters in Ora Kingdom, Eredo Division.
In a statement released on Wednesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Corps (SC) Oluwaseun Abolurin, Keshinro emphasized that the NSCDC would work diligently to strengthen security at the grassroots level, particularly for the people of the Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA).
He urged criminals to steer clear of the community, stating, “This entire community will no longer be a safe haven for vandals, saboteurs, criminals, and unscrupulous elements.”
The groundbreaking ceremony was also attended by His Royal Highness, Adekoya Ogungbesan, the Olu Ora of Ora Kingdom, who underscored the need for a functional office and suitable residential accommodations for the NSCDC Division within the community.
He stressed that such infrastructure was crucial for safeguarding the lives and property of residents in the kingdom.

The traditional ruler called on local government and political leaders to collaborate with the NSCDC to ensure the swift completion of the project.
He also recommended the provision of operational vehicles for the office, which he said would significantly support the corps’ efforts.
Additionally, the Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Akinloye Monsuru, represented by his Vice, Mr. Abdulateef Adesanya, expressed full support for the project.
He encouraged local residents to embrace the development, which he believed would help reduce crime in the area.
Monsuru assured the NSCDC of the LCDA’s continued backing for the successful completion of the divisional headquarters and the implementation of effective security measures in the locality.
