The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, on Wednesday supported the empowerment project of an Abuja-based Benin community with N5 million.

Oba Ewuare II announced the donation in his palace in Benin, when the newly elected executive members of the community paid him a courtesy visit.

The traditional ruler commended members of the association for the visit, charging them to remain a united body in carrying out their activities.

“There is a need for you to be united. Nothing can be achieved in a society full of rancour and acrimony. Any time there are differences, ensure you resolve them amicably without escalation because you are all brothers.

“Do not envy one another; that will not take the association anywhere,” said the Oba.

Ewuare II also advised the visitors to learn to speak Benin language to their children at home notwithstanding what they were being taught in school.
