The candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 presidential election, Peter Obi, on Wednesday led the campaign, mobilising support for the LP governorship candidate in Plateau State, Patrick Dakum, for the Saturday polls. Obi thanked the Obidients, the LP supporters, in Plateau State for voting massively for him in the presidential election. He assured them of his commitment to reclaiming the stolen mandate.
Obi had won Plateau State in the presidential election with 466,272 votes, while Asiwaju Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had 307,195 votes; and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 243,808 votes. Obi had urged the Obidients to remain steadfast in their support.
Obi on his twitter handle wrote on Wednesday: “I have just arrived in Jos to thank the OBIdients, and urge them to come out enmasse to support LP candidates.
“I use Patrick Dakum, our Governorship candidate, as my point of contact in wishing the State Assembly candidates a great success on 18th March.
“We remain committed to reclaiming our stolen mandate and turning our focus to true nation-building.”
