Obi social media supporters go big on fake news; Okupe kicks

The director-general of the Peter Obi Campaign Organisation has denied reports that Kano’s former Emir Muhammadu Sanusi, endorsed the LP’s presidential candidate, and also rejected a favorable claims a deep-faker attributed to incumbent Anambra Gov. Charles Soludo.

In the viral posts, Sanusi was blasting the APC candidate Bola Tinubu, and PDP’s Atiku Abubakar while endorsing Obi

On his Twitter page on Tuesday, campaign DG Doyin Okupe appealed to Obi’s supporters to stop spreading falsehood.

”Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to HE Gov Soludo concerning quadrupling of investment made by Peter Obi as Gov of Anambra,” he said.

Obi was said to have invested $10 million when he was Anambra governors, and Soludo now claims it has grown up to $400 million.

“This statement is not from him or the campaign organisation. Peter Obi only talks about verifiable claims & what he’ll do when in office.

”We also dissociate ourselves from the purported endorsements of his candidacy by HRH Lamido Sanusi and His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto.

”We plead with all our supporters to please desist from creating falsehood on social media. Let us focus on claims that are verifiable & true.”
