Oborevwori assures, Infrastructure renewal remains top priority

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructure renewal and the enhancement of healthcare delivery across the state.

Oborevwori gave the assurance on Wednesday during the inauguration of a 10.9km length of multiple intra-city roads in Warri South Local Government Area.

The governor also inaugurated state-of-the-art medical equipment at the Central Hospital, Warri.

Addressing the people of Erejuwa Community, the governor stated that the projects were vital interventions aimed at boosting economic activities and enhancing healthcare service delivery across the state.

Oborevwori said that the roads were strategic to trade, commerce and the state’s urban renewal drive.

The governor noted that with good road network, businesses would thrive, vehicles last longer and communities grew stronger.

“The roads inaugurated were: the reconstructed Upper and Lower Erejuwa Roads with 9.03 km of drainage.

Addressing the people of Erejuwa Community, the governor stated that the projects were vital interventions aimed at boosting economic activities and enhancing healthcare service delivery across the state.

“The construction of the Ogunu (Agogo) Community Road, Ope Street with a spur to Omene Street, as well as the rehabilitation of key access roads in Ugbuwangue and the Shell Gate corridor, are part of our commitment to improving infrastructure and easing movement within the city,” he said.

Oborevwori said that the total road projects was 10.9km, adding that the projects symbolised the state government’s resolve to boost the economy and restored the infrastructural deficits in Warri.

The governor said that plans were underway to further improve medical infrastructure in the state with the provision of two new C-T scan units.

According to him, one C-T scan unit has already been installed at the Delta University Teaching Hospital (DELSUTH).

Oborevwori added that the other C-T scan for the central hospital, Warri was awaiting installation.

The eight advanced dialysis machines inaugurated at the central hospital Warri included three Nipro Harmodialysis machines.

Oborevwori said that 25 4D ultrasound scan would be distributed across the 25 local government areas of the state.

“Our administration is determined to ensure that our hospitals and health centers are fully equipped to deliver affordable and quality health care.

“As the saying goes, health is wealth, and we are investing where it matters the most,” he said.

Oborevwori urged the people to continue to sustain the existing peace in Warri.

He warned that any threat to public peace or illegal occupation of land would be met with the full weight of the law.

The governor commended the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Mr Isaac Agbateyiniro, for effective management of the local government and assured of more projects inauguration in the next few months. (NAN)
