Founder of the Oduduwa University and Polytechnic, Ile Ife, has been arrested in connection with the death of a lodger in Hilton Hotel the founder also owns.
The Osun State Police Command arrested Dr Ramon Adedoyin following the death of Timothy Adegoke, a masters degree student of the Obafemi Awolowo University who came from Abuja to write his exam at Moro, Ife, on Nov. 5.
Adegoke, declared missing on November 7, was found dead later.
The police had earlier arrested six suspects linked to the death of the student.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner of Police Olawale Olokode, through the command’s spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, on Wednesday, Adedoyin was arrested on November 15, 2021.
The police boss said the suspect is currently in police detention, undergoing interrogation in connection with the case while awaiting the autopsy report from the hospital.
The suspect, Adedoyin, is one of the biggest industrialists in the state.
The CP said no matter the personality of the person involved in the case or how highly or lowly placed in the society if found culpable would be brought to justice.
He assured that updates on the case will be made public as the event unfolds.
