Burna Boy has broken his silence following a physical altercation with DJ Tunez at Obi’s House, a popular Afrobeats event in Lagos.
The incident, which occurred on Monday, reportedly began as a heated verbal exchange before escalating into a physical confrontation. Witnesses claimed members of Burna Boy’s entourage became involved before bystanders stepped in to restore order.
While the exact cause of the clash remains unclear, speculation has linked it to underlying industry tensions, particularly DJ Tunez’s close association with Wizkid, often seen as a rival to Burna Boy.

Following the altercation, DJ Tunez also known as Ogbafia took to social media to criticise the Grammy-winning artist, describing him as a “coward” while referencing his album with the phrase “All Signs of Weakness.”
Burna Boy responded with a mocking video in which he danced to “Money Constant,” a track by DJ Tunez featuring Wizkid and others. In the clip, he altered the lyrics from “Ogbafia dey my side” to “Ogbafia dey for ground,” before dramatically falling, an act widely interpreted as a direct jab at the DJ.
The situation escalated further on Tuesday when the Nigerian DJ Association announced a temporary ban on Burna Boy’s music across DJs’ playlists nationwide pending an investigation.
“Burna Boy’s music is temporarily out of any of our DJs’ playlists till further notice,” the association said in a statement, adding that it would review the incident and determine appropriate next steps.
The NDJ also stressed the importance of professionalism and mutual respect within the entertainment industry as tensions continue to rise following the clash.
