Ojelabi, clerics extols Tinubu’s leadership qualities at Ramadan

The Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, Islamic scholars have enjoined Nigerians to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he makes efforts to salvage the nation’s hitherto dwindling economy.

Speaking at Lagos state APC second Ramadan Public Lecture held on Thursday in the party’s secretariat, Ojelabi cited President Tinubu’s commitment, rare courage shown thus far and his impactful style of governance, while urging Nigerians to give him their maximum cooperation so as to ensure a better future for all.

According to Ojelabi, Tinubu’s approach to governance is unique given the dire situation of the nation and how he had been handling it.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu targets is for the goodness of all, his moves for Nigeria’s development and Lagos State will not be in vain. I urge you to pray for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for he has shown more commitment and rare courage to the renewed hope agenda.

“I urge us all to cooperate with him and eschew corruption and self interest.

“Those Asiwaju do not know their parents he had made great that is the difference between him and late Chief Obafemi Awolowo”.

The first lecturer Abdul Hakeem Lawal (Amir Ikhwan) who delivered a lecture on the title: “Holding on to our faith in this perilous time.” Harped on the peculiarities of the economic situation the country is facing while citing human factor as the root cause of how worsening it has become.

Amir Awwal emphasised the challenge of Nigerian President at this time, adding that opposition is integral for every leader’s success.

“To be a President in this country, you will experience opposition. Even the ones who had no religion in the United State of America always pray daily that God bless America, I urge you to change your thinking and the way you talk to get the best of our leaders.

He however, said that faith and challenges are intertwined adding that perseverance, patience and contentment are the keys of success.

Representing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the event, the Commissioner for Home Affairs Hon. Ibrahim Layorde charged all gathered to take a cue from all the great lectures delivered pointing the faithful to right way of living and doing exploit.

He also urged Lagosians to cooperate with the developmental drive of Governor Sanwo-Olu while counselling the faith divides to allow interfaith harmony.

The second lecturer Sheikh Abubakir Mohammed Solaty while delivering his lecture titled: “Ramadan in the Modern World challenges and Opportunities for Muslims.” Hinted that most of those who had been raised by someone but refused to raised other are the ones hindering even distribution of wealth in Nigeria,

“Check all those lifted by Asiwaju, how many people have you lifted? You are using our money to amass wealth, buying cars and building houses, buying properties abroad, you tend to jettison those who gave your emergence needed support, this is common with Yorubas.

“Those up there should help those beneath.”

Prominent politicians who graced the occasion includes; the Chairman of Governor Advisory Council Pa Tajudeen Olusi, GAC Secretary Muse Muniru, former Speaker Lagos State House of Assembly Rt.Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, Chief Adeseye Ogunlewe and APC organizing secretary Mr Lateef Ibirogba amongst others.

Party faithful troupe out in thousands to honour the Ramanda lecture, listening with rapt attention to the delivered lectures by renowned scholars.
