Sen. Rocha Okorocha has sure hit a rough patch in his political career as losses attend every move he makes since a state high court in Owerri ordered a final forfeiture of his corrupt assets.
A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday just declined an application the former governor made to stop the EFCC and Imo government from taking over his assets a panel of enquiry declared as ill-gotten, and which the state court forfeited to Imo on Monday..
Among the assets are the Royal Palm Springs Hotel, a university, a shopping mall, a factory and other properties belonging Okorocha and other members of his family.
The National Daily earlier reported how Justice Fred Njemanze, who was sitting as a vacation judge, Okorocha’s counsel failed to give concrete and verifiable reasons why a final and absolute forfeiture order should not be given in favour of the Imo state government.
