Arsenal’s hopes of lifting the Premier League title have received a significant boost, with the Opta SuperComputer dramatically increasing the club’s probability of finishing the season as champions.

The latest projection follows Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, a result that further dented the defending champions’ title charge.

According to Opta, Arsenal now has a 91.01 percent chance of winning the Premier League, which would mark their first league title since the historic 2003/2004 “Invincibles” season.

Mikel Arteta’s side strengthened their grip on the summit on Saturday with a commanding 4-0 victory over Leeds United, extending their lead at the top of the table to six points with 13 matches still to play.

Manchester City’s chances of retaining the title have dropped sharply to 5.49 per cent, reflecting recent dropped points and Arsenal’s strong form. Aston Villa remain distant outsiders with a 3.25 per cent probability.

Liverpool and Chelsea, meanwhile, have both been handed slim title hopes of just 0.11 per cent each, underlining how tight the race has become at the top and how firmly Arsenal are now positioned as favourites.

With over a dozen fixtures still remaining, the title race is not mathematically settled, but Opta’s latest assessment suggests Arsenal are firmly on course to end their long wait for Premier League glory.
