Laolu Akande, the spokesperson of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has said the meeting between his boss and the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu on Wednesday was not about politics.
Osinbajo had visited Tinubu in his Abuja home on Wednesday.
The Vice President was received by the APC presidential candidate and his deputy, Kashim Shettima.
However, there have been speculations about the purpose of the visit, especially given the fact that Osinbajo has not been part of Tinubu’s campaign for the 2023 presidency.
However, reacting to the speculations, Akande said it was to exchange pleasantries in the spirit of the season.

Akande made this clarification in a tweet he posted on his verified handle.
“The Vice President stopped by for a friendly visit at the Abuja residence of Tinubu. At the meeting, the vice president and Asiwaju exchanged pleasantries in the spirit of the season.
“And in response to media inquiries whether this was a political meeting, it was not,” he, said
He noted that Wednesday’s meeting was the third between both leaders since after the APC presidential primaries in June.
Recall that shortly after the primaries, Tinubu paid the vice president a visit at his Aguda House residence, in the Presidential Villa. They met again at the Ministerial Retreat in the Villa in October.
