Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has assured that the state government will soon release palliatives to the people to cushion the hardship caused by removal of subsidy from petrol. The governor cautioned: “These palliatives are not meant for politicians or their relatives; they are meant to be distributed equitably among the poor and vulnerable individuals in our society first.”
He enjoined local government chairmen, Councillors and all political office holders to ensure that the palliatives reach the people when distribution begins.
Governor Fintiri in a statement on Thursday declared:
Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri
@GovernorAUF
“Very soon, we will be rolling out palliatives to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal on our people. I want to urge all Chairmen of councils, councillors, and all political office holders who will be appointed soon to ensure that when this intervention comes, it reaches our people.
“These palliatives are not meant for politicians or their relatives; they are meant to be distributed equitably among the poor and vulnerable individuals in our society first. A well-planned distribution system should be laid out to ensure that nobody is short-changed.
“From now on, we must strive to live in a community where everybody is treated fairly, ensuring that our people can live the way they deserve.
“Adamawa First!”
