A cruise passenger has survived after falling from a ship’s 10th deck prompting a dramatic rescue.
According to Fox 35 on Wednesday the Unidentified 42-year-old passenger fell into the ocean yesterday at roughly 5:44 p.m. aboard Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas about 31 miles south of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Royal Caribbean in a statement to Fox35, “The ship and crew immediately reported the incident to local authorities and began searching for the guest, thankfully, the guest was successfully recovered and was brought on board.”
The woman, who is a US resident, was uninjured and did not require any medical attention and was eventually taken to the hospital for an assessment.

Witness and fellow passenger Matthew Kuhn said he thought someone had died when he saw the recuse attempt unfolding as he saw life rafts and smoke.
He said, “I think it was amazing to see everyone was on their balcony, Everyone was trying to help, and the crew was very receptive to everyone.”
Passengers watched the rescue in front of them and began cheering when the woman was recovered from the water, as some people were thinking the worst had happened.
