- Condemns siege on House of Assembly by APC thugs
The Peoples Democratic Party, on Monday, raised alert over the resurgence of political violence in Akwa Ibom State, stating that the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly premises was under attack by thugs, suspected to be working for the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
PDP in a tweet on its verified Twitter handle @OfficialPDPNig shared a photo declaring: “the thugs allegedly invaded the complex, chanting the slogan “APC! Change” as they set fire and blocked the entrance to the Assembly complex.” The party in the statement on Twitter maintained that the attack on the House of Assembly was carried out by members of @OfficialAPCNg thugs.
The PDP tweeted statement read: “Breaking News: The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly (AKHA) premises is under heavy attack by members of @OfficialAPCNg thugs.
“The thugs invaded the complex, chanting the slogan “APC!
