The Concerned PDP takeholders, a group within the leading opposition party have asked Ekiti’s Gov. Ayo Fayose to shut his gob and stop ridiculing himself by his ceaseless attacks on President Muhammadu Buhari.
“We condemn Fayose’s unguided, repeated attacks on Buhari. It’s better to keep shut if you have nothing to say,” the group said Tuesday in a statement signed by its patron Prof.T. Akinyemi.
“Buhari has good intentions, and he is a man we all respect, irrespective of his political affiliation. Moreover, the office of the president deserves the respect of all Nigerians.”

Fayose has put himself forward as the battering ram of the PDP-led opposition, especially in the southwest. His most recent attack widely condemned by Nigerians was the letter he wrote to the Chinese government to back off the railway loan agreement almost concluded with Nigeria.
In his recent defence, Fayose denied disrespecting the 73-year-old president. He claimed he was just concerned a bone-old leader like Buhari cannot govern Nigeria now.
The governor is championing a similar rebellion—against the old brigade—in the PDP. The stakeholders, however, agree with him on that.
Ironically, the group is rooting for former Sen. Bode Olajumoke to lead the PDP in the southwest.
