The Association for Ethical Awareness in Nigeria (AFEAN) has stated it’s disbelief towards a remark made by President Muhammadu Buhari at a function held by International Criminal Court recently.

“It is saddening to see President Muhammadu Buhari speak about respect for Human Rights at ICC after he supervised the massacre of 1,000 Shiites and hundreds of IPOB members”, they opined that World Apex court ought to have started the processes for his prosecution instead.

The body insists that it is surprising to realize that this same Nigerian President supervised the massacre of over 1000 shittes in Zaria where many women and children were thrown down from story buildings.

“President Muhammadu Buhari went further to justify these killings on National Television without any recourse for those that were massacred in Zaria, Kaduna State on that ill fateful day” says the body to newsmen.

They stated their wish to draw the attention of the International Criminal Court to the injustice meted out to the peaceful indigenous people of Biafra who were only protesting for self-determination.

Under International law, the principle of self-determination is prominently embodied in Article I of the Charter of the United Nations.

The Article provides that: All peoples have the right to self-determination. By virtue of that right they freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development.

“President Muhammadu Buhari, in his usual High-handedness and gross abuse of human rights, sent the Nigerian Army with code name ‘Operation Python Dance’ to kill and maim harmless IPOB protesters.

“The Nigerian government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari went further to proscribe the IPOB as a terrorist organization leaving marauding killer Herdsmen that have killed thousands of Nigerians to operate freely unchallenged.

“It is on record that the Nigerian Government under the supervision of President Muhammadu Buhari has no solution to the ongoing killings in Nigeria by Fulani Herdsmen; rather put an end to this killings once and for all, he want to forcefully give large expanse of land to Fulani Herdsmen for so called ‘Cattle Colony’ which will further endanger the lives of Nigerian citizens”.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Patriot Franklyn Nsa, AFEAN National Chairman, went further to say categorically that the just concluded Governorship election in Ekiti State was forcefully rigged in favour of APC with the aim of reversing the Ekiti State Anti Crazing Law in favour of President Buhari’s Cattle Colony agenda.

“We therefore call on the International Criminal Court to as a matter of urgency, swing into action and bring all the perpetrators of Zaria and IPOB massacres to book. We also enjoin the International Criminal Court to caution the Nigerian President over his flagrant disobedience of court orders and the abuse of human rights that is ongoing under his watch by officers and men of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).”

AFEAN says the Nigerian President cannot feign ignorance to hundreds of  young Nigerian citizens being harassed, maimed, raped and killed by people saddled with the responsibility of protecting them, and as therefore called the International Criminal Court to look into all the extra-Judicial killings that has taken place under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari.

“We the entire members of AFEAN congratulate the Ekiti citizens who sold their birth rights to APC led Government for N5000 for a job well done. We pray that the Almighty God grant them strength to bear the fate. We believe that when the Fulani Herdsmen commence their attacks on the Ekiti people, they will realize that Governor Ayodele Fayose was fighting for their security”.

Finally, the body expressed its support to her mother party’s position (Peoples Democratic Party) for seeking a legal redress on the outcome of the just concluded Ekiti State Governorship election in the court of competent jurisdiction.
