Police ban use of unauthorized tinted glasses on vehicle in Zamfara

The Police Command in Zamfara State at the weekend banned vehicles using tinted glasses in the state. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Ayub Elkana, gad last Friday declared that all vehicles with unauthorized tinted glass should be immediately removed.

The CP further mandated police operatives to arrest and prosecute owners of such vehicles who defy the security directive.

The CP also reaffirmed that the ban on carrying more than one passenger on a motorcycle, including the use of motorcycles with clutches in 13 LGAs and some parts of Gusau, are still in force.

The CP further cautioned residents of the state of the consequences of non-compliance with the closure of weekly markets in the state, except in Gusau.

Elkana also reiterated the restriction of movement in and out of the 13 LGAs from 6.00am to 6.00pm, and from 8.00pm to 6.00am in Gusau, the state capital.

“All Keke Napep (tricycles) putting additional curtain to cover passengers is banned. The suspension of communication networks in the 13 LGAs is still in force with the exception of Gusau metropolis,” the CP had stated. He appealed for the cooperation of tresidents of the state.
