On Thursday morning, police officers used tear gas to disperse #EndBadGovernance protesters gathered near Eagles Square in Abuja’s Federal Capital Territory.
Eyewitnesses reported that despite prior public information designating the Moshood Abiola National Stadium as the approved venue for the protest, a small group of demonstrators still assembled at Eagles Square.

This followed an order from an Abuja High Court, which, in response to a case filed by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, restricted the August 1 hunger protest to the Stadium.
Upon spotting the protesters at Eagles Square, police attempted to disperse them by firing tear gas into the air.
Despite the police action, the protesters remained peaceful, continuing to sing, wave the national flag, and display placards.
Security forces had earlier blocked their movement toward Eagles Square, but the demonstrators were determined to express their views.
