Police makes Ojota tense for secessionists defying Igboho’s Saturday order

Tension is mounting in Lagos as the state command of the Nigerian police and Yoruba nation agitators exchange threats in the lead up to the Lagos rally by the Ilana Omo Oodua group whose militant leader Sunday Adeyemo aka Igboho is now on the run.

The police has begun show of force around the the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park,Ojota, less than 20 hours to the rally which Igboho  cancelled before the detail of his encounter with the DSS operatives Thursday night.

Hundreds of armed police already took position there on Friday, with APC ad other security assets—in readiness for the protesters.

Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi said the demonstration was “a warning signal to whoever or any group of persons planning to stage any procession or foment troubles in Lagos”.

Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu in statement on Thursday warned that anyone caught participating in the Yoruba Nation rally will be prosecuted.

The police authorities have vowed they will never allow protests degenerate to the level ENDSARS did last October in Lagos and across the nation.
