The news of the sack of two of President Muhammadu Buhari cabinet ministers came to many Nigerians as shock—and to one of the ministers affected, life-threatening news.
Saleh Mamman is now in an Abuja hospital.
He collapsed in Abuja September 1 on hearing the news Buhari axed him and his agric. minister Sabo Nanono, the minister who approved N30m for a Friday mosque construction in a Borno IDP camp.
Mamman was appointed in 2019, and Buhari fired him for his weak performance following self-assessment by the cabinet.
“He wasn’t expecting to be fired so soon,” a family member told the People Gazette that first reported it.
“He collapsed yesterday and was immediately hospitalised,”
The online news platform added the 63 year-old has been living at Transcorp Hilton in Abuja for more than three weeks on the bills of some powerful interests in the power sector.
