Presidency 2023: PDP set for transparent National Convention – David Mark assures

Chairman of the National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) former President of the Senate, David Mark, has declared that the party is set for transparent National Convention, saying the PDP has concluded arrangements for a hitch free convention on Saturday.

David Mark in an interaction with members of the convention committee in Abuja, said the exercise will be smooth and transparent, urging committee members to ensure a credible exercise.

Mark in a statement by his  Media Aide,  Paul Mumeh, warned: “you must be absolutely transparent.

“If you have any interest or bias for any of the aspirants, you can excuse yourself from this assignment.”

The convention committee chairman insisted all logistics, materials and security have been sorted out. “We are prepared for the exercise, virtually all our delegates have arrived Abuja,” he declared.

Mark assured that the result of the convention will make the party stronger.

He declared: “the PDP has an array of eminently qualified persons to rule Nigeria. We carried out due diligence during our screening. I am confident that whoever emerges from the convention will reflect the wishes of our party.”

Members of the convention inspected the facilities at the venue of the convention, Velodrome, Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.

The PDP national convention is scheduled for Saturday for the election of the party’s presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.

The PDP presidential ticket is contested by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki; Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, former President of the Senate, Antim Pius Anyim; former Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State, among others.
