Videos in circulation on social media showed that some protesters had stormed the headquarters of the policy think-tank, Chatham House in the UK, to demand Tinubu’s withdrawal from the 2023 presidential election but met counter-protesters who stormed the area to show support for Tinubu.
Tinubu is the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) while Atiku is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Tinubu flew to the United Kingdom some days ago to hold conversations with Nigerians at Chatham house even though he has been called out severally for avoiding debates and meetings with the citizens of the country.

On arrival at the venue of the meeting in UK, Tinubu was greeted by placards for and against him. The protest against him was led by PDP’s Reno Omokri while others who are probably his supporters stood for the APC candidate. However, it was not a palatable scene to experience especially overseas.
According to Reno, Tinubu couldn’t come out of his car due to the protest and at the end, he had to flee when he couldn’t stand the embarrassment of the mixed protests.
The protest which commenced hours before the 1.00 pm. slated time for the lecture has witnessed some Nigerian and foreign demonstrators who claimed to be Obidient supporters of Peter massing up at the lecture site. They patrolled unhindered.
Hours before the demonstrations, supporters of Tinubu, however, issued warnings that those coming to protest would face deportation as local police had been forewarned to guard the Chatham House venue with snide remarks that illegals would face the consequences.
