French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain may show current manager Laurent Blanc the exit door, Goal.com reports. According to the report, the club is finalizing plans to bring on board Sevilla manager Unai Emery to replace the former French international. While PSG had Diego Simeone in mind as their first-choice candidate to succeed Blanc, the club have realized it is unlikely to successful price away the Argentine from Atletico Madrid.
This is why they will turn to Emery, who has finished the season at Sevilla with a victory in the Europa League for the third campaign in a row, while he guided the club to a seventh-placed finish in La Liga.
It was gathered that PSG are keen for the managerial switch to be finalised before France’s Euro 2016 tournament begins on Friday evening. Pressure has mounted on PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi from owner Emir Al-Thani to sack Blanc following the club’s quarter final exit for the third consecutive season in the Champions League.
