A cleric Sheikh Yayah Afolayan has urged Hon. Babatunde Hunpe the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government to prioritise schooling children, the dependent-aged ones and the women in his administration.
Afolayan gave the charge while delivering a thought-provoking lecture targeted at championing the call for love amongst the body of faith at the Ramadan feeding programme put together by Noella Foundation and the Seyi Tinubu Movement (STM) in the Badagry LGA secretariat on Thursday.
According to the cleric the most important demographic representation for any public office holder to accord focus is the schooling children, the aged and women.
Hon Babatunde hunpe in his short remarks during the programme however, stated that Seyi Tinubu’s positive impact is felt all around Badagry federation which comprises Badagry LGA, Olorunda and Badagry West LCDA.
“Seyi Tinubu has been doing good ever before his father becomes the President, to us in Badagry federation we are grateful, majority of Badagrians are in APC and our leader have already declared Asiwaju as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, this we reecho always.
“That both the Lent and Ramadan started same time speaks volumes of a divine arrangement, so we urge our people to live in peace, promote peace and ensure peaceful coexistence is sustained. During this time love is key and we must be able to forgive ourselves.”
The Apex leader MZ Ogunbiyi in his message harps on the importance of the women, as much premium is placed on them in the forthcoming election.
“Let us all support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Seyi Tinubu and family in our prayers, it is Asiwaju from 2027 till 2031.”
The Noella Foundation initiator Mr. Akanbi Saheed Afonja former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development and presently Personal Assistant to Mr. Seyi Tinubu on grassroots politics earlier in his address cited instances of supportive moves initiated by STM across the federation.
“It is our usual practise during Ramadan we used to take of the Muslims even beyond Lagos State.
“To God be the glory we are here today in Badagry, the fact that I’m from this political corridor I have to ensure that our people benefit from what Noella have been doing.”
Speaking to the issue of voter apathy, Afonja reiterates why it persists citing the disconnect in the aspect dividend of democracy as it pertains even distribution amongst the people as its root cause.
“Where people expect dividend of democracy and none is forthcoming, they choose not to vote, saying after all they benefit nothing but even prior to now we’ve tried alongside the three local government chairmen of Badagry LGA, Olorunda and Badagry West LCDA.
“We’ve sensitized them that if at all their demands are not met now, it can still be addressed later, so we encouraged them and do the little we can to support their businesses and all.
“Today we have both the cooked and raw food to be distributed to Moslems for them to break their fast as sponsored by Noella and Seyi Tinubu Movement (STM).
“We planned for 700 people so, as the cooked food seemed not sufficient owing to the influx of more people we had to make up with the raw food courtesy Hon Anofiu Elegushi and Honourable Hakeem Murhi Okunola stakeholders of STM.
Commissioner Abdullateef Yayah of Civil Service Commission in his vote of thanks encouraged all to be ready for the party’s primaries which will happen in April or May.
