Nigerians have taken to social media en masse to register their shock and grieve the sudden passing of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, the Senior Pastor of the Fountain of Life Church in Lagos.
Pastor Odukoya died on August 7 at the age of 67 in the United States of America, a statement by the church partly stated.
Netizens have since taken to different social media platforms to react to the sudden death of the Senior Pastor.
An anonymous comment on a post announcing the death of Odukoya read: “Chai, Chineke, this wonderful man, may his soul rest in peace.”
The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, in the 2023 elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, tweeted: “Heartfelt condolences to the family, congregation, and community of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya of Fountain of Life Church, @TFOLC. He was a beacon of faith and hope. May his soul rest in eternal peace. -AA.”
Foluke Michael commented: “It was indeed a rude shock. Pastor Taiwo Odukoya was dedicated and selfless. .”
Another Instagram user Ysbanjo wrote: So sad, the man went through a lot. He lost his 1st wife in a plane crash in Abuja and remarried. She too died of cancer and a few months after his new wife’s death his twin sister died as well. So sad May his soul rest in peace.”
“Now you can have your absolute peace in Jesus, may God grant your soul repose, comfort, and uphold everyone and everything you left behind! Rest eternal, Sir,” Fortflour said.
Media personality Ayo Mairo-Ese wrote: “Pastor Taiwo Odukoya and the Fountain of Life church have blessed my life tremendously. This is such sad sad news. I pray for the Odukoya family, the TFOLC family, and the body of Christ. May God comfort and strengthen all in Jesus’ name.”
Omowunmi Ogungbaibi also wrote: “He went through so much and yet was steadfast, may he find solace with his creator, it’s a sad situation indeed.”
