With deep sadness and renewed outrage, advocates have condemned the ongoing injustice faced by Rita Uguamaye, popularly known as @iamraye__, whose discharge certificate from Nigeria’s National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was seized after she criticized the Tinubu administration over worsening economic conditions.
Supporters reveal that despite their readiness to stand with her to ensure she receives her rightful certificate, the government under President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu allegedly detained one of her advocates in Abuja last week.
This move has been widely condemned as part of a broader pattern of intimidation, repression, and silencing of Nigerian youth voices.
The promise to fight for justice for Rita remains unbroken, with activists pledging to continue their struggle until a victory is achieved—not only for her but for every Nigerian oppressed by an unjust system.
Rita’s bravery also led to a notable increase in the monthly allowance for her NYSC colleagues, which has been raised to ₦77,000.

This improvement, won through her sacrifice and outspoken stance, underscores the grave injustice in denying her the discharge certificate she rightfully earned after completing her service year.
Her supporters insist they will not abandon her cause, affirming that her fight represents the collective struggle of Nigerian youth. “The struggle continues until we win,” they declare.
