The Seriki Fulani of Lagos His Highness Alhaji Dr. Mohammad Abubarkar Bambado II and leaders of Arewa community, have described the rumored suspension of it’s State Chairman Engineer Saadu Yusuf Dandare Gulma as a farce.
The Seriki Fulani made the declaration at a stakeholder meeting held to address the alleged suspension on Thursday.
“I hereby quashed the rumored suspension of our Chairman Lagos Arewa Community Engineer Sa’adu Yusuf Dandare Gulma and as well direct you all to team up with him, no more rancor let the status quo remain.”
It will be recalled that certain individuals within the community, allegedly wrote a petition calling for Saadu Gulma’s suspension.
Another stakeholder Mai Kano Lawal the Director Arewa Community Support Group 2023, while commenting on the allegations levelled against the Chairman disclosed that it is dead on arrival as Sa’adu Gulma remain firmly rooted as the state head of Arewa Community.
Alhaji Ibraheem Tanko Haruna the Arewa Apex Leader West 2, also affirmed the stance of the leaders on the matter.
“There are some internal issues within the Arewa Community APC which we need to resolve.
“Some people decided to take laws into their hands, which we will not allow.
“I am a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT). If there are any issue the BoT needs to be informed and they will take decision on such issue they brought before them.
“Now according to the source there is a letter written to suspend the Chairman Arewa APC Alhaji Saadu Gulma, which we BoT are not aware and will not accept that.
“There is no chairman that has the power or authority to suspend him because he is the overall Chairman of the APC in Lagos state, if there are any issue I think it is the Board of Trustees that will take charge.
“If it is to dissolve the exco or suspend him we are the only people that can do that.
“We have instructed whosoever wrote that letter to go and retrieve it and write another one affirming Alhaji Saadu Gulma remains the Chairman Arewa Community in APC Lagos State.
“We have summoned all those who wrote the letter, on Saturday we are going to sit with them again, to give them a strong warning.
“In anything you are doing, there is constitution and you must follow due process , without it nothing can be done.
Also a stakeholder Alhaji Dandama added that, division is not allowed in the Arewa fold.
“We agreed that Alhaji Saadu Gulma remain Chairman Arewa APC Lagos, both the person in charge of campaigns and the headship of Arewa APC are to work together no division.”
In his response on the rumoured suspension, Engineer Sa’adu Dandare Gulma said that till his tenure ends he remained APC Arewa Community Chairman.
“The major resolution we reached with our leaders and fathers in Arewa Community and the Seriki in Lagos is that, we maintain the status quo.
“After the expiration of every Chairman’s tenure there will be an election, now my tenure is not yet finished.
“The leaders all agreed that we are going to conduct election after my tenure and that the suspension is null and void, there is nothing like suspension.
“They call us to drop our interest and focus on that of the Arewa Community in Lagos.
“We have reach the end of all these acrimony and by Saturday we are going to have a meeting with them and trustee, chairmen and exco, to make sure the matter is over.
“They are going to write the relevant authorities they wrote before to counter what they have said before. Everybody are on board now.”
