The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of 21 nominees as Federal Commissioners for the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The confirmation followed the presentation and consideration of a report from the Joint Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs and Finance.
Senator Yahaya Abdullahi of Kebbi North, while presenting the report, stated, “The Senate do receive and consider the report of the Joint Committee on National Planning and Economic Affairs and Finance on the confirmation of the nominations for appointment as Federal Commissioners in the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).”
This confirmation comes after President Bola Tinubu appointed the nominees, pending Senate approval.
The announcement was made by the former Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in August 2024.
Subsequently, the Senate referred the screening process to the Joint Committee in September.
The newly confirmed Commissioners are:

- Akpan Effiong (Akwa Ibom)
- Enefe Ekene (Anambra)
- Prof. Steve Ugba (Benue)
- Chief Eyonsa (Cross River)
- Aruviere Egharhevwe (Delta)
- Nduka Awuregu (Ebonyi)
- Victor Eboigbe (Edo)
- Wumi Ogunlola (Ekiti)
- Ozo Obodougo (Enugu)
- Kabir Mohammed Mashi (Katsina)

In his remarks, Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio encouraged the new Commissioners to excel in their roles and to serve as exemplary representatives of their states and the nation.
