Vice President Kashim Shettima’s scheduled trip to Samoa for the 2024 Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit has been cancelled following an incident at JFK Airport in New York, where a foreign object struck his plane, damaging the cockpit windscreen.
A statement from Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the incident and noted that President Tinubu has promptly approved a ministerial delegation to represent Nigeria at the summit, which is being held in the Samoan capital, Apia, from October 21 to 26.
