The manager of Nigerian singer Simi has dismissed circulating reports suggesting that she and her husband, Adekunle Gold, are headed for a divorce, describing the claims as false and misleading.
Vincent, Simi’s manager, said the rumours, which went viral across social media platforms, were based on a fabricated document purportedly presented as a divorce petition allegedly filed by Adekunle Gold.
The document, dated February 28, 2026, claimed that the couple’s marriage had “irretrievably broken down” and alleged prolonged emotional, financial, and professional control.
It further sought dissolution of the marriage and joint custody arrangements for their child, with several online reports asserting that the petition was filed at the High Court of Lagos State.

However, Vincent refuted the legitimacy of the document, pointing out what he described as clear legal inconsistencies.
“The document being circulated online is fabricated. It did not originate from any legitimate legal process and should not be taken seriously,” he said.
“It’s fake and fabricated. First, stage names are not tenable in any court of justice worldwide, as the document indicates. Even the suit number on the document is backdated to 2024 (SUIT NO HCL/FC/2024/0178).”
He urged fans and the public to disregard the rumours, emphasizing that claims of a divorce between the two musicians are entirely unfounded.
The statement from Vincent aims to quell the spread of misinformation, reassuring supporters of the couple that their marriage remains intact.
Observers note that such fabricated legal documents have become a frequent source of false celebrity gossip on social media, underscoring the need for verification before sharing unconfirmed reports.
