Popular Nigerian singer Chike has accused a social media user, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, of allegedly defrauding him of $20,000 in a failed business deal.
In a series of posts shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday morning, the music star claimed he invested the sum in a venture presented to him by the woman but never received any returns or evidence that the business existed.
Expressing frustration, Chike alleged that he only realised much later that he may have been scammed.
“Chioma Nneoma Ochibili, so you are a thief? That’s how they do. They will tell you they are doing certain business. Her business is to survive on your money,” he wrote.
The singer added that he believes other individuals may also have fallen victim.
“$50,000 in the air. $20,000 of my hard-earned money I didn’t see either. How do I find out this late that I’m just another person she has duped? Even me I de laugh myself,” he posted.

Chike urged his followers and the general public to avoid entering into business dealings with the woman, whom he described as an alleged fraudster.
When asked by other users to clarify the nature of the transaction, the singer said the specific details were not the main issue.
“Whatever business Chioma sells to you is not the issue. The big issue here is that the business does not even exist, which then equates to fraud,” he stated.
The “Running (To You)” crooner disclosed that he has begun efforts to recover the money he claims to have lost, though he did not provide details about whether legal action has been initiated.
As of the time of filing this report, Chioma Nneoma Ochibili had not publicly responded to the allegations.
The incident highlights growing concerns about online business scams and fraudulent investment schemes, which continue to affect individuals across Nigeria and beyond.
