Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell has expressed strong confidence in the Gunners’ ability to defeat Chelsea when both sides clash in the Premier League on Sunday, March 1, at the Emirates Stadium.
Campbell also believes Mikel Arteta’s men are firmly on course to clinch the Premier League title this season, following their recent dominant performances.
The former England international spoke in the wake of Arsenal’s emphatic 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby — a result that further strengthened their grip at the top of the table.
Currently, Arsenal sit five points clear of defending champions Manchester City in the Premier League standings. However, Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand, having played 27 matches so far, keeping the title race finely poised as the season enters its decisive phase.
Reacting to the derby triumph, Campbell praised the team’s momentum and winning mentality.

“A 4-1 win away from home, keep going, keep rocking, and we are going to get there. We are going to do it this year,” Campbell was quoted as saying by Metro UK, expressing his belief that Arsenal will lift the league trophy at the end of the campaign.
The Gunners have already enjoyed success against Chelsea this season, knocking the Blues out of the Carabao Cup at the semi-final stage over two legs. That result, Campbell noted, should give Arteta’s side further confidence heading into Sunday’s encounter.
“We have done them in the cup, we can beat them again,” he added.
Arsenal will return to action next weekend at the Emirates, where they will aim to consolidate their lead and continue their push for a first Premier League title in years.
With momentum firmly on their side and belief growing among club legends like Campbell, the Gunners appear determined to see the job through
