A magistrate court in Abuja has remanded Omoyele Sowore and his fellow protesters in Kuje prison after their arrest and detention in a police formation on December 31.
Police brutalized and arrested the Sahara Reporters publisher alongside others protesting bad governance in Abuja.
They were arraigned before the Abuja magistrate January 4—on three charges of criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, and attempting to incite others.
But Sowore and others pleaded not guilty
The court said that the bail application filed by Sowore and four others will be heard January 5, 2020.
The SaharaReporters’ publisher was arraigned in court on Monday alongside four others by the Federal Government.
They were arraigned on three charges of criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, and attempting to incite others.
They all pleaded not guilty to the charges
Others arrested and remanded are Juwon Sanyaolu, Damilare Adenola, Peter and Kimrere,
Sowore has been going in and out of detention since 2019, after he organized a botch Revolution Now protest in August 2019.
