Zaynab Sanni Oyindamola has been identified as the only corps member—with a backstory— trapped in the ruins of the Gerrard Terraces in Ikoyi since incident happened on Monday.

Her parents are regretting as they mourn now.

According to reports, Oyindamola resumed work with Fourscore Heights Limited, the estate contractors that owned the building.

She was originally posted to Borno, but her parents afraid of terrorism ravaging the area swung her redeployment to Lagos.

“She has been coming here since then. We don’t even know why they sent her here. She was originally posted to Borno but her mother redeployed her. If we had known, we would have allowed her to continue her youth service in that state,” a relative said.

“We asked her not to go to Borno because of the insurgency but she went there for the three-week orientation and came back alive only to come and die.

“ She was a very humble and respectful girl, she would greet everybody when she arrived from work every day. She is the first daughter of her mother and they are just two.”

The total number of dead victims has risen to 38 so far, while nine were rescued from the ruin of the 21-story tower.
