After 11 growling experience of been held incommunicado, five staff members and three students of the Tulip International School, Isheri area of Ogun State, have been released.
The students were abducted in their school after the abductors dug a hole underneath the fence and gained access into the school a couple of weeks ago.
The Assistant Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2, AIG Kayode Aderanti, disclosed the release in Lagos on Tuesday evening explaining that the victims were released about 8:35pm through the bush path behind the school compound in Isheri, Ogun state.
National Daily gathered that the victims have been taken to the hospital for medical examination and treatment.
It was, however, unclear whether ransom was paid or not. However, while family members insisted that undisclosed amount was paid to secure the freedom of the abductees, the police maintained that the release of the victims was orchestrated by the pressure mounted on them by the security agencies.
This is the third successful schools to have been stormed into by kidnappers in Lagos in the last 10 months and made away with students of the school.
